How good are you getting things done?

February 24, 2011

“Measurement is the first step that leads to control and eventually to improvement. If you can’t measure something, you can’t understand it. If you can’t understand it, you can’t control it. If you can’t control it, you can’t improve it” ~ H. James Harrington

FacileThings has been updated today with a new feature that will help you analyze your self-management data:

metrics

So you can see how the most important data in your personal productivity system are evolving (latest day, latest week, latest month and all the time). All data are broken down into three groups: project tasks, recurring tasks and independent actions. These are the metrics you can track:

  • Things done: The amount of things you do every day.
  • Time to complete: The average time (in days) it takes since a stuff is turned into action until it’s done. An action is an item that is on the Calendar, the Next Actions list or the Waiting for list.
  • Delegated things. Here you can see the proportion of tasks delegated to others with respect to the total work done.
