GTD® Dictionary

Glossary of terms

Non-Actionable Item

It refers to all that stuff in your system that requires or admits no action at the present moment. You need well-organized, discrete systems to handle these items as well as the ones that are actionable.

There are three types of non-actionable items:

  1. Those about which you are not going to do anything ever, which you'll throw away (Trash)
  2. Those about which you may do something some day, which you will incubate.
  3. Those which are simply interesting or potentially useful information, which you will keep as Reference Material.
