Hello everyone!
We have created a What’s new page where you can follow, in real time, the updates we are making to the new Beta application.
Our current pace is to publish one new version per week. We have also picked up the pace of sending invitations, and we hope to have sent them all out by the end of August.
One of the most recent new features is the Radar option, very similar to the “Reminders” that appear in the Engage section of the classic version, but with more nudges and the ability to customize them. It’s a panel that shows you the things you need to pay attention to so that your system keeps working perfectly.
The new API v2 is already in alpha stage, and this week we’ll start sending access keys to a few users who are also developers. If you’re a developer and would like to test the API, you can request access through a support ticket.
In the coming weeks we’re going to pause development of the beta app briefly to finish building and publishing the MCP server, which will let you access your FacileThings data from your favorite LLM (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.).
Also, in July we’re going to switch server providers, since our current one (Heroku) is pivoting its business toward AI and doesn’t seem likely to pay much attention to this space going forward. The migration, once all the necessary testing has been done, will take place on a Saturday night, and the service will need to be down for about an hour. I’ll send you an email once we know the exact date.
That’s all for now.

Perfect! I can’t wait to start using MCP. What’s new and Radar section are great too.

Thanks Michał! :)
Thanks Michał! :)
I like the new Radar view, but hope that we will ultimately be able to have it open and pinned to the right without it taking space from the main central view. I have a lot of space in the web browser view such that reducing the size of the main engage view shouldn't necessary.
Similarly, I have a load of space on the left of the window as well, so there's no need to put the Context, Time, Energy and Focus behind separate tabs. A singular view (akin to the current "What to do now?" panel) would make better use of the space.
But I generally like how the new version is developing and I'm trying to use it for my day to day usage.

Hi JR,
The Radar design is still in progress, although right now I'm not entirely sure how to prevent it from taking up space from the rest of the information presented in this section.
In any case, we understand that the Radar isn't something you want to have constantly open. It's something you check occasionally to see if the system is ok, take the necessary steps to fix it, and then close it again, leaving all the space for your daily tasks.
Regarding the election criteria, the "vertical" layout is completely unsuitable for screens that aren't as large as yours or for users who have countless tags in that format (it forces constant scrolling). The design of the new app must be compatible with laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Thanks so much for your feedback!

Thanks for the response, Francisco.
To respond to your point, if given the option, I think I would keep the Radar constantly open as I would like to have all this information visible in the Engage screen as a kind of "life dashboard".
In terms of layout, I do hope the new version will be adaptive and be able to take advantage of whatever device it is being used on instead of being limited to a small vertical slice of the screen. The mobile app is important, but I spend my days at a computer with a larger screen and would like FacileThings to make good use of the extra space available.

Hi JR,
You're right. Perhaps we're so focused on making the app responsive to any small device that we're not taking advantage of the available space on large screens. We'll review the design's adaptability to larger screens ;)
Thanks!!
