FacileThings: Goals and Areas of Responsibility

AUTHOR: Francisco Sáez
tags Improvements Perspective

It’s not the first time we talk in this blog about the importance of vertical processing or perspective in GTD, a practice absolutely necessary to align our daily actions with the real priorities of our lives.

Starting today you can define your medium to long-term objectives—personal and professional—in FacileThings. You must define your goals in a very specific way, think about how you are going to measure your progress and assign them a deadline.

For each of your goals, you must define the different areas of responsibility, hats you’ll have to wear in order to achieve it.

It’s highly recommended to first check all your current actions and projects to have a clear idea of which may be your goals and areas of responsibility. Once defined, be sure to assign every project to an area of responsibility. If a project doesn’t contribute any of your goals, it probably shouldn’t get done.

Both the definition of goals and areas of responsibility, as the association of projects to them, can be done using the new Goals feature:

Soon, we’ll add new metrics that let you better track the progress of your goals and projects.
