March 2026: Here Is Where We Are At

Hello everyone!

We’re continuing to make progress on the new app, now at a faster pace, and we’ll be opening the beta version to the first beta testers during April. This is, broadly speaking, the current status of the project:

project status

The Clarify stage is probably the process that creates the most friction in the GTD workflow, especially for beginners. It’s a new mental process that’s usually difficult to turn into an automatic habit.

We’ve created a wizard to help you absorb the series of questions that everyone should ask themselves to think, decide, and transform the captured “stuff” into concrete, actionable items. We’ve also modified the design of this stage to make it clearer and easier to use.

Of course, there will still be a “quick” way to clarify, without having to go through the questions that should guide this mental process.

Oh! We’ve also implemented the undo function (one of the most requested by you), so you can return any item to its previous state if you made a mistake when changing it to a different list.

That’s all for now.

Awesome! And it’s not just for beginners—even when you know the GTD method well, the 'clarifying' stage is always a tricky moment. It’s that time when you’re tempted to rush, skip steps, and just wing it to clear the inbox. I'm delighted to see this animation. It definitely keeps the excitement going! 👍

Uau, this is awesome, and really like the way you are doing this project - where you are renovating the app but also trying to see where new things can go to.
Absolutely amazing and can't wait to try it out

It’s really encouraging to hear about the progress. I’d enjoy a short video of the beta too if you get inspired to do that. Maybe Maria? Go team!

FT Team - The animation alone is getting me excited to use the new app! It looks good - looking forward to trying it out (especially the undo function - there have been so many times that I made a mistake and had to go searching for the item I accidentally checked off!

Hi Marc,

I completely agree with you. We should always follow the full mental process, whether we're beginners or not.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Alex,

Yes. Since we are developing everything from scratch, we are including improvements that we consider important and have been in our backlog for a long time.

Thank you!

Hi Michael,

We plan to publish videos showcasing all the new features and use cases we can think of. We don't have much capacity to do this ourselves, but I think AI can help us out ;)

Thank you!

David Allen several times uses the word "process" to combine clarify and organise

I am wondering what is your approach because the video has clarify and organise as separate steps

Hi Gary,

FacileThings, both the classic and new versions, strictly follows the clarifying algorithm defined by David Allen in GTD, which includes the organizing stage as the final step in the process. Organizing, in this context, occurs when you put the capture in the appropriate list (in the video, you can see that when the user chooses "Postpone," the action is organized into the "Next Actions" list).

I am so pleased with the few improvements you have elected to share with the community. It is clear that time and careful thought are being devoted to crafting the next stage in FacileThings' evolution.

April cannot come soon enough for the beta testing to begin.
